Ursuline Education Community

Brentwood Ursuline Convent High School is a member of the Ursuline Education Community – a group of Ursuline schools in England that collaborate on the education of Ursuline students, following the work of St. Angela Merici.

Students are encouraged to demonstrate ten groups of Ursuline virtues throughout their education with us. These have all stemmed from the writings and teachings of St. Angela.

St. Angela taught us to:

“Do something, get moving, risk new things, stick with it.”

This is a phrase that is used to encourage students to take on challenges and fulfil their God-given potential as an Ursuline student.

The Ursuline virtues are regularly referred to in lessons, tutor time, assemblies and extra-curricular activities. Students who demonstrate all Ursuline virtues in one academic year are presented with a certificate and an ‘Insieme’ badge (meaning ‘together.’)

As part of the Ursuline Education Community, two Year 9 students and two Year 10 students are ‘UEC Representatives’ for our school. Throughout the school year, they are provided with opportunities to meet with UEC representatives from other Ursuline schools, sharing ideas and networking across the Ursuline communities.
