Catholic Social Teaching

The principles of Catholic Social Teaching underpin our Catholic Ethos and are embedded within our Ursuline Virtues.

As a school, we strive to support students in working to achieve ‘The Common Good’ through our charity fundraising, Len-tin appeals, Harvest Festival and other initiatives.

Alongside this, we educate students in Catholic Social Teaching both in RE lessons, and through our ‘Insieme’ tutor activities and retreat programme. This allows students to apply the principles to their everyday lives.

In Year 9, students take part in one Curriculum Extension Day dedicated to exploring the plight of refugees and considering our response to it; both as individuals and as a wider Catholic community.  The day supports the work of CAFOD and SVP, encourages students to see Catholic Social Teaching in action, and consider how they demonstrate solidarity with those in need.
